The difference of cognition in Taiwan is the consequence of multiple culture and lifestyles as well as impacts of transition, wars, and colonization.Taiwan is famous for the kingdom of butterfly. The development and application of butterfly design under Taiwanese culture has been transformed naturally different from Chinese culture. This study is to compare the icons among architecture, clothing, traditional craft, and design application in Taiwan as well as to apply those in network and implications. After the data collecting and analysis, the comparison of icons are made by KJ test, moreover, they are translated and categorized through icon expression and symbols. The results are helpful for butterfly design to lift the level of application and media materials
as well as to create a fresh visual icon.
